UT Administrator Directs Admn to Take steps to Contain Recent Spike in COVID-19 cases in Chandigarh


Recent spike in COVID-19 positive cases in Chandigarh is a cause of concern and Mauli Jagran accounts for maximum new cases. The source of infection has been persons visiting the city out of tricity.
Keeping it view, UT Administrator VPS Badnore has directed Chandigarh administration the following:

Officials have been directed to issue specific orders regarding self-home quarantine for 14 days for visitors coming from outside Tri-city.  It will not apply to visitors who spend less than 72 hours in city like business executives who come for official work & leave.

Appealed to the RWAs, NGOs, to co-operate with UT in monitoring the stay and movement of persons coming from outside.

Incase of fresh break-out in any of the areas of Chandigarh that has recently been opened up, fresh restrictions will again be imposed.

DGP Chandigarh has been directed to ensure that there is regular checking of persons coming from outside tri-city to Chandigarh. Only those persons, who have registered themselves for the visit on the website (admser.chd.nic.in/visitregis/) of the Administration will be allowed to enter Chandigarh

A special drive to be undertaken to impose on-the-spot fine on violators of social distancing & mask wearing.
