What’s Amazing
Youngsters these days are making innovative use of their valuable time. On the other hand, most of us are just mindlessly scrolling on social media. ‘Busy without work’ would be an apt description for this. While we were surfing through memes all this time, a 20-year-old went ahead and made an out-of-the-box resume on her Insta feed. Digital resumes are an upcoming trend and she has set higher standards for applying for jobs.
Flaunting Her Skillset
Everyone has a dream job. But getting yourself noticed by that company is no cake walk. By using the unconventional way, she landed a job at Deloitte India as a Visual Content Creator. Turning her account’s photo gallery into a resume, Ankita, with her designing skills posted it as a 24-picture collage.
Ankita Chawla, Chandigarh-based Instagram influencer, has 17.5K followers. After completing internship, Chawla’s friends were getting their first jobs. She was still struggling to find one. So she decided to catch the attention of her employers by doing something different.
When she was asked about the potential failure of her idea, she reportedly said, “I was skeptical at first because it wasn’t a traditional format that an employer is used to see. I knew my resume was a misfit among the other resumes that were going out and I knew that brought with itself a chance for failure but I eventually embraced it.”
Take A Look
According to reports, the ideating part of the resume took about 5 hours. Executing and illustrating it all took about 60 hours.
So We’re Saying
It’s time to update my CV with some colour at least. This means I have to remove ‘Came first in a collage-making competition in class I’ from my resume.
