“If you light a lamp for someone else, it will also brighten your path”. Taking into consideration this quote by Lord Buddha, the students of various eminent schools in Tricity are sending new woollens to school children in J&K on World Kindness Day, 13th November, 2017 in collaboration with Yuvsatta and Peace Club of KBDAV Senior Secondary Public School. The Independent Schools Association (ISA) is organizing this event along with Indian Army, who are arranging the transportation and the final distribution of the woollen clothes.

Madhu Bahl, regional director, DAV schools and a major partner in the initiative further elaborated that “A formal function will be organised at KB DAV Senior Secondary Public School on November 13 to flag off the Army truck containing gifts of friendship and goodwill. This ‘children to children’ endeavour of love, friendship and patriotism will certainly generate much needed warmth and goodwill to further sustain and strengthen the spirit of one India, which we all admire and adore a lot.”

R D Singh, secretary, Independent Schools Association, Chandigarh, and New Public School principal also added that “Peaceful coexistence is only possible if we inculcate in young ones the concern and compassion for others. And through this initiative our school students tried to do this inspiring change for good of all.”

Pramod Sharma, coordinator of Yuvsatta said,”Now for last four years Yuvsatta volunteers are coordinating this program and with many prominent schools of Tricity on board, the results are soul-satisfying”.
