1. Nanhe Kadam
Nanhe Kadam, ‘small steps’ as it literally means, seeks to bring about a bigger change by taking small, yet significant steps. The NGO works to support the health and education of disadvantaged children in villages in the states of Punjab and Haryana. Having made significant contribution in the healthcare of village children by helping conduct periodic check-ups and health camps, the organization has now expanded activities to providing education to disadvantaged children through ‘child sponsorship’ programmes, volunteer teaching activities at village schools, and material support in the form of uniforms, clothes, notebooks, school bags, etc.

2. ArriveSAFE
As the name may suggest, ‘ArriveSAFE’ helps people ‘arrivesafe’! This is an NGO working in the field of road safety awareness. It would be good to know that the recent liquor ban by the Supreme Court was the brainchild of the founder Harman Singh Sidhu. The organisation works on a multi-node model and reaches out the government, media, as well as the community to sensitive the issue of road safety amongst the masses. It also works as a pressure group to persuade the governments to make advancements in the field of road safety.

3. Navsankalp
NavSankalp is a Charity Association that empowers the downtrodden and links them with the mainstream through financial support. More specifically, NavSankalp helps those critically ill children, whose family cannot afford the treatment of their child’s ailment. The association was formed in 2006, and now binds 250 members, who annually visit orphanage- Snehalya, old age home, and blind institute.
How to contribute?
You can contribute in terms of monetary assistance for the treatment of the underprivileged patients, who otherwise can’t afford. The system is transparent and trusted.

4. YuvSatta
Yuvsatta (Youth for Peace)-an NGO is working in a variety of areas to steer the young people towards implementing Gandhian ideals based on voluntary effort and individual & community action. Yuvsatta aims to promote the spirit of volunteering amongst the generation next, to bridge the barriers of race, colour, religion, nationalities, and at the same time, fill the gender and economic divides by empowering the young people.
