From last year’s rank 1, Panjab University has dropped to second position across India in US NEWS BEST GLOBAL UNIVERSITY RANKINGS-2018. Even the university’s Global rank has gone down from 389th to 513th this year. But the good news is PU tops the charts in physics across the country.

Scores of Indian Universities in US News Best Global University Rankings-2018
Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has scored 44.7 points while PU has 43.3. Last year, as per the agency PU had 54 marks and the IISc was second with 53.7 marks.
In physics, ranked 1, PU has scored 64.9 marks while IIT Bombay is at second spot with 54.1 marks and IISc is 3rd with 53.1.

US News Best Global University Rankings are released by U.S. News & World Report, which is a multi-platform publisher of news and information based in Washington.
Methodology adopted in US News Best Global University Rankings-2018
In all, 1,250 institutes were evaluated across 60 countries on the basis of 13 parameters, including global research reputation and regional research reputation, publications, books.
