Keeping in view the guidelines issued by UGC, the Panjab University has today announced to conduct final semester examinations from September 17- September 30 in a blended mode (offline/online).
The UG examination will be held from 9 AM to 11 AM & the PG exams from 10 AM to 12 AM.
Questions papers will be made available on website
• Question papers will be uploaded on the university’s website at 8.30am.
• Besides this, these will be sent to the Chairperson/Director/Principal via email.
• They’ll then send the question paper to the students concerned using different electronic modes.
• The Director/Principal of the concerned institute/college/USOL will also upload the question paper on their official website from where the students will download the paper.
A4 sheets to be used
• The students will attempt the question paper on A4 sheet paper in their own handwriting & after scanning it, they’ll upload the same on the given platform or email to concerned officials.
• They can use a maximum of 12 sheets of which only one side has to be used.
• The student has to write the roll number, class, paper, course and signature on each sheet. All those who can’t upload it, may submit it at the nearest centre/college or send it by post to the address provided.
No compulsory questions
There will be no compulsory questions and the students will be required to attempt only 50% of the question paper.
Evaluation to be completed in 5 days
The evaluation of the papers will be done within five days from the last date of exams & results will be declared thereafter.
Entrance exams scrapped
The University has scrapped all entrance exams and admission will be done on merit basis.
Regarding the conduct of entrance examination for BA LLB courses, a case is pending before the Honorable High Court of Punjab & Haryana.
Special chance
If due to some reasons, a student couldn’t appear online, then a special extra chance will be given to him/her to appear for the physical exam as and when the situation improves.
Colleges to conduct Practicals, Viva voce
The PU has also allowed the colleges to conduct viva voce/practical examinations of undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational courses through online mode.
This will be done within September 10 to 15.
The roll number of the students will be uploaded on the university’s website from September 12.
Monitoring committee
A special monitoring coordination committee is formed to monitor all technical glitches, administration hurdles & logistics related to online exams on a day-to-day basis
Dedicated email
To address grievances, the controller office will create a special dedicated email.
Besides this, a nodal centre will be created where all types of facilities related to online conduct/post conduct activities will be provided.
