No Prescription Required for COVID-19 Testing in Punjab

The Punjab government today announced that prescription is not mandatory for COVID testing in the state.

Now, anyone can get testing done on his own.

Free-of-cost testing

COVID testing is available for free of cost at all government facilities in the state.

List of all such district hospitals, sub divisional hospitals, community health centres is available on http://pbhealth.gov.in/

Private labs conducting tests

Private labs in the state are also conducting COVID tests. There are 45 ICMR approved private labs in the state. Some of the private labs also provide for home collection of samples.

Get tested if you have symptoms

The government made an appeal to citizens to report to health authorities and get themselves tested in case they have symptoms like fever, cough, body ache, breathlessness, fatigue, loss of taste & smell, sore throat, running nose, etc. or exposure to COVID positive patients.

Prices fixed

The government has put a cap of ₹2400 for RT-PCR testing & ₹1000 for Rapid Antigen test at approved private labs.

It includes taxes, home collection costs, etc.
