I-Day | Punjab CM Virtually Inaugurated Two Projects in Mohali

While speaking at the independence day function, the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced the virtual inauguration of two major projects for Mohali district.  

66 KV sub-station 

One of the projects is 66KV Sub-station 1, which will be set up at Sector 82, Mohali.

Punjab Biotechnology Incubator

The second project is Punjab Biotechnology Incubator building, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 31 crore in Sector 81 of the district.

Its construction was started recently by PWD (B&R), and work is in progress on the basement.

Dr. Manjeet Singh and Dr. Harmandeep Kaur got special mention

Captain Amarinder Singh made special mention of those people who had performed exceptional service during the COVID pandemic.

The state government will bestow awards on these men and women on Republic Day 2021, the CM said.

The CM commended Dr. Manjeet Singh, Civil Surgeon, Mohali, who despite battling leukemia led from the front and went personally to high exposure zones /containment zones.

He also applauded the efforts of  Dr. Harmandeep Kaur, Epidemiologist, who had to move her one-year-old child back to her parental home to ensure safety as she worked day and night, going to the field, for extensive contact tracing, testing, and taking preventive measures.

Preamble presented

On behalf of the people of Mohali district, Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan, along with Girish Dalyan, DC, Mohali presented a framed preamble of our Constitution to the CM.
