A day ago, GGDSD College was all decked up to host its prestigious Inter-college Annual Science cum Cultural Fiesta BioRhythm 2018, in association with Department of Science and Technology and Renewable Energy,Chandigarh Administration where the surroundings hinted at a theme, ‘A Day In Cairo’.
Worthy chief guests were Mr. Santosh Kumar, IFS (DST) Director (CREST) and Mr. Ram Gopal, IPS (SP, CBI, Government of India, Chandigarh).
Ranging from the invitation cards, banners, interior decor to outdoors activities, there was hint of Egypt in everything. The pyramids of Giza, The Shpinx and Mummies in sarcophagus, sculpted by the team were the center of attention and received immense admiration by the Guests.
BioRhythm promoted cultural diversity by staging performances like Naati, Luddi, Bhangra, Gatka, Hary anvi, Ladhaki, Korean and Himachali dances. RJ Manav, from 93.4 MyFM, another Guest Of Honour, a GGDSD alumnus, encouraged students from the audience to come up on stage and present their talents. The fest was proud to live up to its tagline, “BioRhythm-Where the star, You Are” and brought out the star in students. Other on stage events included Rap On Beat, The Story Untold, Battle Of Strings, The Voice and Science based theme dance. It was an amazing sight to watch the audience dance in full swing during the performances. Nazakat, the modelling event was glamorous enough to hold the eyes on stage and Ramesses the great and Miss Cleopatra enchanted the spectators with their majestic walk.
Students from over thirty colleges in the vicinity gathered together and SD College for the first time witnessed such a huge crowd in one of its departmental fest. The outdoors was chirpy with multitude of sponsors including food stalls, educational institutions and retailers promoting their businesses.

Finalists were awarded with gift vouchers and coupons. RJ Manav went on air with the students and was happy to play their song requests on 94.3 FM.
LIVE PERFORMANCES add to the entertainment quotient of a fest. With music pulsating in the background, audience danced to the rhythms of Arzz..a musical call which made the event a phenomenal success.
