To ensure safe and secure Chandigarh for women here, Chandigarh Police has started a facility to make available police car to pick and drop women from any location in Chandigarh.
All one needs to do is call Women & Child Helpline 1091 or Control Room Helpline 100 or 0172-2749194 or 0172-2744100.
Chandigarh Police website says,
“In case any lady is out of her place of stay late at night and is unable to avail a taxi, auto, cab, etc. to reach her place of stay safety, then she may call the PCR at No. 100 or 0172-2749194 or 0172-2744100. The PCR shall send it’s vehicle to safety drop the lady to her place of stay within Chandigarh.”
ANOTHER REMARKABLE INITIATIVE BY CHANDIGARH POLICE FOR WOMEN SAFETY
UT Chandigarh police came up with ingenious idea to keep those roadside romeos at bay. Policewomen are deputed in civil dress at public places like markets, bus stops and malls to check incidents of eve-teasing and sexual harassment at public places.
