In what is said to be first ever scheme not just in India but the whole South-East Asian region, Himachal Pradesh has become a flag-bearer of health schemes that practically covers the last man in the last row using the power of technology. The Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh launched six new health schemes including electronic health card scheme which is the star highlight of them all.
The schemes launched are:
♦ Electronic health card scheme
♦ Scheme for providing free insulin to diabetic patients below 18 years of age under universal immunisation programme
♦ HP Universal Health Protection Scheme
♦ Health bulletin brochure
♦ Scheme for free treatment of Hemophilic patients and
♦ Introduction to ‘Measles Rubella’ (MR) campaign.
The health card is available online and can be downloaded from google app by the name ‘Health Card HP’.
Also, the Virbhadra laid online foundation stone of special ward of Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla to have 32 wards.
The schemes will go far beyond in strengthening the health services in the state and will bring the hitherto uncovered under any government health scheme under the ambit of Universal Heath Scheme.
