Dig in the Undiluted Pleasure of Innocence at The Treehouse Farm

Whenever my parents and elders tell their stories about growing up in the lap of nature, where swimming pool would be the river or the pond next to the village, sand-made castles on its bank, swinging to trees branches, peek-a-boo in the fields, the sheer pleasure of plucking fruits from the trees and eating raw… All these things leave me with mixed emotions. I am perplexed, awe-struck, happy, disgusted and sad. Proudly or not, being 21st century woman, I could only wonder how is it to be this close to nature? How is it to be get out of the so-called sophisticated urban cloak and wallow crazily in the soil which has given us everything and get drunk in the pious air to soar high to reach the heavens.

I know, in the concrete jungle that we all live in today this does sound a far-sighted dream for all of us. Sometimes we all feel the need to rejuvenate ourselves and what we do, get into our cars and go on a long drive to Kasauli or just head to our favorite restaurant or coffee house here. And, we wonder wish I could have this solace right where I live! Wish I could be this close to nature always!

There’s one place that I ‘discovered’ this Sunday that made me feel that people do care to feed their minds with fresh air and enfuse new life in the child within us all, who is slowly dying under the burden of competitive life.

The place is ‘The Treehouse farm‘, located 30 minutes from Chandigarh on the Ambala- Chandigarh Highway.

From the urban cosmopolitan life, in less than 15 minutes I traveled into the world that my Grandma so fondly narrated. Chandigarh is green and clean, but it is urban. Never does anyone find a getaway to travel the time-machine, but this is one place which absolutely believes in ‘No technology or app can replace the sheer pleasure of rolling in sand.’

The rustic flavor of the place is amplified in everything you find here. From the tractor, cart (rehri), trolley to mitti da chulha and well, everything tickles the child-like energy in you. What impressed me the most that The Treehouse Farm especially encourages the children to spend their day with nature. They have designed different packages for schools picnics and many renowned schools like Strawberry World School, Gurukul Global School, Bachpan, Spiral Labs and many many more have given their children the taste of nature. Many fun activities are available there like tree house climb, tractor ride, double cycle, bullock cart ride, treasure hunts, tug of war, pitthoo, gili danda, gardening, kite flying and many adventure activities.

It’s not that these activities are just meant for the young, elders can be a part of it too. Cooking on mitti da chulha was one fun experience for me. My family, the children and the elders equally had an amazing time there.

It’s no less than a wonderland. Plan your getaway with your family and friends to The Treehouse Farm and what better time and place to bask in winter sun than here.
