Due to the coronavirus outbreak, not only CBSE but other state boards have also decided to postpone the exams for the safety of the students.
Details of affected examination schedule due to the coronavirus outbreak:
- CBSE: As per the notification released on Wednesday i.e. March 18, 2020, the Central Board of Secondary Education stated, ”All ongoing examinations of the board of classes 10 and 12, being held in examination centres in India and abroad, and scheduled between March 19, 2020 to March 31, 2020 (both dates inclusive), shall be rescheduled after March 31, 2020.” The examination will be rescheduled after March 31.
The decision comes after the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD) ordered the board to postpone exams. For the candidates from North-East Delhi, the exams will also be further rescheduled.
Moreover, evaluation work related to ongoing board examinations has also been suspended in all evaluation centres in the country. Until fresh notice from the board, all Centre Nodal Supervisors may ensure rescheduling of evaluation job from April 1, 2020.
- CISCE: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination said, ”In view of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreading across the country and with much uncertainty and speculation in the air, the Council, in the interest of the health and well-being of the students and the teaching community, has decided to postpone all ICSE and ISC year 2020 examinations scheduled to be conducted between …19 March 2020 and 31 March 2020.
The revised dates of the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Board Exam 2020 and Indian School Certificate Examinations (ISC) Board Exam 2020 shall be notified in due course of time.
- JEE Main 2020: The HRD Ministry’s National Testing Agency (NTA) also postponed the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE-Main) for admission to IITs and engineering colleges.
- National Institute of Open Schooling: NIOS has postponed its examinations too.
