Chlorine Gas Leakage in Water works Facility in Mohali

Chlorine gas leakage has been reported on late Sunday evening in Mohali’s Balongi village waterworks facility. Appallingly enough, atleast 25 people have been hospitalised.

Around 8.30 pm, residents complain of nausea, dizziness and irritation in the eyes.

Two of the firemen in action also had to be hospitalised as they experienced the same problems. 

Mohali civil surgeon Dr Manjit Singh said that around 25 persons, including women and children, were taken to the civil hospital in Phase-6. Their health is said to be stable.

Fire officials buried the cylinder in the ground to plug the leak.
