Chandigarh Receives 12,000 doses of COVISHIELD

Chandigarh has received 12,000 doses of Covid vaccine – COVISHIELD from Serum Institute of India, Pune. The vaccine will be stored at GMSH-16 (District Hospital).

From January 16, health workers will be administered the vaccine first and PGI will administer 500 doses per day to them.

The vaccine will be administered at nine sites: 

2 sites each at GMSH-16, GMCH-32, Civil hospitals-45, 22, Manimajra, and Sector- 49, Civil dispensary of PGI.

5 more sites at PGIMER. 

The vaccine has to be taken in two doses with intramuscular injections within a gap of 28 days.
