Chandigarh| Hospital Directed to Refund Overcharged Amount for Covid-19 Treatment


The committee formed to examine the complaint against Chandigarh based Healing hospital in Sector 34 for overcharging of Covid-19 treatment has directed the hospital to refund the overcharged amount to the complainant.

The committee consisted of Satish Jain, SDM (South), Area DSP, Senior Medical Officer (Health) and Drug Inspector (Health). 

The complaint was filed by Kunal Soni. It was found out that a sum of Rs 2,78,000 was overcharged in the bill amounting to Rs. 3,69,000 by the hospital. The actual amount of the bill is Rs 91,000 approximately.

The committee directed to hospital authorities to refund the said overcharged amount.

The UT Administration had formed committees to check fleecing of patients by private hospitals in the city.
