Chandigarh Admn Decides to Test Those with Minor Symptoms too

COVID-19 cases in UT Chandigarh have well crossed 500 and active cases jumping 100 mark. Leaving no chance of timely detection of the coronavirus in people, the UT Chandigarh has directed even minor symptoms of throat infection, fever or breathing problem etc. will be tested for COVID-19.

The required directions have been given to Director Health Services to make sure such patients visiting flu doctors are tested for COVID-19. Also, the health department will visit the sectors from where fresh cases have been reported.

UT Administrator V P S Badnore has given directions to health team to carry oximeters along so that severity can be determined by assessing oxygen levels.
PGI Director Dr Jagat Ram also brought to light the issue of fake COVID-19 test reports carried by outstation patients especially and providing local address. The Administrator has ordered Principal Secretary Health to look into the matter.
