Bullet trains are soon going to be running across the country. The nation’s first bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad ia already underway, Indian government has its eyes on covering more routes, including Delhi and Amritsar via Chandigarh.
Currently, it takes 6 hours for Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi to cover 465 km distance, with bullet train the travel time will be cut down to 2 hours only.
The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited earlier this October had invited bids for survey of the 465-km project with a purpose to identify both overhead and underground utilities and power source options, including substations, along the proposed corridor. The bids have to be submitted between November 3 and November 9 and will be opened the next day.
The other projects include Varanasi-Patna-Howrah, Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru and Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad.
