Another First for Chandigarh; PU to Turn Digital in Issuing Degrees

Now, PU students do not have to wait long for convocation for their academic awards. The degrees will be available digitally right after the declaration of results.

Panjab University is the process to become the first university in India to issue digital degrees from the next academic session 2017-18. With the declaration of university results, the degree will be available online in the National Academic Depository (NAD).

Only a particular student is authorised to access his or her academic awards in the digital mode which could be his/her degree, diploma, certificate and mark sheet through the national academic depository online. To log in for accessing an academic award, a student should have his/her Aadhaar card number as his/her user identity card and for foreign students, the passport numbers will be their IDs.

At present, students get their provisional degrees within one week. In fact, students do not have to apply to the university for academic awards verification as the degrees available online are already verified and they can access their academic awards in any part of the world.
