Chandigarh, the city beautiful, boasts of so many amazing titles including Highest HDI in the country not without any reason. Apart from the administration, every Chandigarhian zeal to maintain the highest quality living standard is the reason behind this. One glaring example has to the fore when residents of Sec 21, Chandigarh themselves bought a high-end machinery to clean the sector.

A grass mower and leaf collector machinery from the US costing around Rs. 7.50 lakh has been bought by the residents. It not only collects leaves and grass, but crush them making it suitable for manure. The members of the  Citizens’ Association, Sec 21, Chandigarh collected the money for the machinery.

Cleanliness is definitely a collective effort. It’s not just the duty of the MC Chandigarh to clean the filth we citizens spread carelessly around. Swachh Bharat is a national cleanliness drive and the residents of Sec 21 have set an example for all the community to follow.
